Hey y'all. As some of you know, I put on the editor's hat once and a while. I have twelve anthologies under my belt, the most well known my Funk! series where I give authors of African/African Diaspora Descent the opportunity to write in speculative fiction genres where we aren't numerous.
In June, I'm launching a Kickstarter to create my latest, and final, anthology of the Funk! series; Spacefunk! I've gathered a group of over 40 writers and poets and given them free reign to write speculative fiction stories that take place in space. These authors range from well known award winning writers to first time published, and come from all around the world. It's a great collection and I know you'll enjoy it.
So why Kickstarter? I've never used it for my previous anthologies, but Spacefunk! is so big I need the support to do it right. In addition, the plan is to pay the authors SFWA (Science Fiction Writers Association) rates, something I haven't been able to do in the past. I've done the best I've could, but the writers deserve more. This is an opportunity to do it.
